I have an 8 year old!!! For Anna's birthday this year we celebrated on Saturday at Dixie Igloo, ice skating. It was freezing cold, but very fun for all those participated. Afterward we headed to Brick Oven for a bite to eat. In the morning my kids like their new age in pancakes usually, but Anna requested crepes instead. Yummy!!

What to do?

Photobucket

No, I didn't cut her hair into a mohawk...this is how it grows. I shaved her head once at 4 months and once at 8 months hoping that it would grow in even, but alas it has not. Now I'm at a loss for what to do. Do I shave it again or do I endure this awkward stage and let it grow out a little so I can put it into a pony? I really don't think I can handle it much longer...I need to buzz it.

I can hardly believe they will be 1 next month. Sad. I'm really trying to saver every minute with these two. Every first everything is bitter sweet as I know our family is complete and we won't be adding any additional babies. I could have babies forever...if Paul would let me.

Lainie's special day

Lainie turned 6 and we celebrated doing whatever she wanted to do. We started off the day with a #6 pancake and then headed to Ava's gymnastic class where she told everyone it was her birthday. Next, we went to lunch at McDonald's, where I doused the kids with germ-x a zillion times between eating and playing on the toys. Then, we headed to the grocery store to pick out something delicious to share with her class. (She chose ice cream sandwiches.) She came home from school wearing the crown shown above and told me all about her being queen for the day. For dinner she requested Pirate Island Pizza where we sang happy birthday and opened her gifts. She had a wonderful birthday!

Head Gear!

Photobucket

Photobucket

She had an expander put in her mouth 2 weeks ago that we have been tightening on a nightly basis. We went back to the ortho today and she got this! (She has an underbite and crowding.) She has to wear it for 14 hours a day. I wasn't quite sure if I was putting it on correctly so I called over my gal pal Jamie and her daughter Madee to show us how to do it. Madee wore hers several months ago, but put it back on so that we could snap a shot of BFF's in their head gear. Sweet!

Sorry Nicole, sadly this was the best picture of Ava and Eliana together. I just could not get that girl to smile for me...she is so serious. We loved having you for a visit and look forward to your next trip to St. George.

Valentine's Day

We had a wonderful Valentine's Day full of family and fun. The kiddos enjoyed our morning breakfast of heart shaped everything, we went to church, played a little mario cart, ate a delicious dinner, and celebrated Aunt Loni's birthday. Little side note: This cake is the 2nd attempt at homemade cake, and although it looked pretty, it tastest horrible. I've come to accept the fact that I am a boxed cake girl.

Paul's sister Nicole and her family are here for a visit this weekend. We caught a picture of the babes this morning with their cousin Bella who is only 2 days older than they are. Can't believe the size difference! Such sweet babies.

Anna came home with this today...Paul wasn't too happy.

Art Contest

Photobucket

Once again, Anna wanted to participate in her school's art contest. This year she waited until the night before entries were due. I wasn't able to help her as I was at the night clinic getting the twins ears checked. Her project pictured above is actually a sun roof of a 90 VW Jetta that Paul was piecing out in our garage. She did her best spray painting it and using an angle grinder to create her masterpiece. She received 1st place in her grade. We are very proud of you Anna Jane.

10 years later

Photobucket

I remember when we were first married-10 years seemed like a lifetime away. But here we are...10 years, 5 kids, 3 moves/cities, 11 vehicles, 8 E.R visits, 6 career changes, and a zillion happy memories later. I love you babe. Thanks for making our first 10 amazing.
