10 years later

Photobucket

I remember when we were first married-10 years seemed like a lifetime away. But here we are...10 years, 5 kids, 3 moves/cities, 11 vehicles, 8 E.R visits, 6 career changes, and a zillion happy memories later. I love you babe. Thanks for making our first 10 amazing.

Visit from AK

Photobucket

Paul's parents came for a visit this past week. We had such a fun time together. How I wish AK were closer. The morning they left we snapped a few shots. Love the 3 generations of handsome...handsome boy, handsome husband, handsome grandpa.

decisions, decisions

Christmas Eve I must have eaten a bit too much because I sat on one of our barstools and seconds later I found myself on the floor. The metal leg actually broke. Since then, we've tried to managed with just the 2 stools we have left, but with 3 girls, the fights over who sits at the kitchen counter just aren't worth it. We've searched high and low and these are the two we like. I'm in love with the orange stools. They are modern, fun, and most importantly orange. Love anything orange. Paul thinks that we might get sick of them too quickly. His choice is the black wood stool. I love these too. They are certainly a "safer" color choice. My only concern is that the sharp corners might stab a few legs, heads, arms, while a certain child is bound to spin in them. Decisions. Decisions.

Snowman

Photobucket

We got some snow this morning. Ava and Lainie went outside to play in it after Anna went to school. I came out to this creation that they made all by themselves!

10 months old and this is their very first bath in the tub. (I usually just stick them in the shower with Paul or give them a sink bath.) Cute babies...growing way too quick.

Random Christmas Pics

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Paul had to work Christmas day so we celebrated Christmas Eve with tasty prime rib and all the fixings, loads of treats, and we opted to open our gifts, all but the stockings-which Santa brings Christmas morning. It was a great night. Paul had mentioned a "family gift" he got the family and was debating whether to leave it for the girls Christmas morning or if he should wait until the 26th to give it to them. I didn't care either way so I left it up to him. Christmas morning, Paul got up at 5am and headed off to work. I fell back asleep as usual and waited for the kids to wake up. Around 8am I got a call from Paul which I missed while feeding the babies. I called him back a bit later and he said to gather up the girls and have them go outside to see what he had left them on the front porch. To my total surprise I found myself hearing the voice of my little girls in stereo from outside and from Paul's phone. He was the present!! I was totally shocked and so elated that he had gotten Christmas Day OFF! The little stinker had been planning the surprise for awhile. He said he got his work clothes on, got in the car and drove around the block, then came back through the garage and worked on his car for 3 hours while waiting for us!! I was so happy! It was for sure the best Christmas gift I've ever received.

PS. We made our gingerbread houses Christmas Day. I chose to make them from scratch this year. I felt like such a Betty, but it took FOREVER! It makes me wonder if it's worth it. It's kind of like buying shrimp that you have to devein yourself...yeah it's cheaper, but so not worth the time you put into it.

Christmas Sunday

Photobucket

All done up for Christmas Sunday, I had to capture the moment. And although it's not in focus, and the babes are tired, I was pleased that my children stayed somewhat put together to take this picture after church. Sweet husband of mine rarely wears his suit, but oh how handsome he looks in it. Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

Hanging out with santa

Santa always visits our church christmas party and checks in to see if the kids are being naughty or nice. Anna seems to be getting too cool for sitting on his lap, but chose to, in order to get a bag of treats. Lainie decided to sit on his lap with 2 of her pals. Ava was thrilled to death and kept cutting in line to sit on his lap again, and you can tell by the picture of the babes who liked Santa and who didn't.

Caught!

The little man isn't crawling yet or rolling over much either. He makes his way across the room while laying on his back, pushing his heels against the floor and scooting wherever he pleases. He found the tree lights today.

I took my sister's family pictures and while there, I toted along my family and set up the camera for her to take pictures of us. It was freezing and by the time I got around to take Lily's picture, she was too cold to give me her usual sweet smile. The last picture is our Christmas card this year.
