The Babes

Photobucket

The babes are 9 weeks old now. They had their 2 month appointment last week and Owen and Lily are both in the 10 ish range. Owen was 10.9oz and Lil was 10.2oz.

I just had to share little man's cute outfit he wore this past Sunday. I've seen onesies similar that have iron on tie appliques on them. I decided to try to make one myself using one of Paul's old ties. I just cut the back, tied a knot and sewed the knot on a onesie. I feel so crafty.

Sorry about the not so clear picture. I grabbed the point and shoot and didn't realize there was a big huge fingerprint on the lens. I tried to clean it up a bit, but alas I'm not great with photoshop yet.

Lainie's Graduation

Photobucket

Lainie graduated from preschool on the 14th of this month. She recited Humpty Dumpty perfectly in front of her classmates and parents/family. It was one of the first outtings with the babes, but I had my mom, my sister Jen, Aunt Loni and Uncle Terry all there to help! Thanks guys.

Mother's Day

Photobucket

Awww, mother's day. A day I reflect on how well I'm living up to the name. Some days I wonder if I'll lose it completely, but most I feel completely blessed to have these 5 children who make me a mother.

Then, of course, there is my mother. The perfect example of patience, love, and selflessness. I love you mom. Happy Mother's Day.

I took these this past Sunday. It was our first Sunday back to church and we fared well. I was a bit nervous about the whole nursing twins in public part, but it all worked out fine. The babies are 6.5 weeks here. Lily had a hard time keeping her eyes open outside. It's amazing how different they look from each other. Lily is so fair, with red hair, and blue eyes. Owen is dark like Lainie. After church we took a little walk around the block with my mom. I feel so lucky to have her here.

Paul's 1st OJI

Photobucket

Paul got his first on the job injury about a week or so ago. He burned his hand while trying to rescue a little boy from a burning car....at least that's the story he tells people. It's actually a 2nd degree grease burn that he got while cooking bacon at the station. Ouch!

I believe this is the first snapshot I've taken of all the kiddos together. Still can't believe I'm the mother of 5!

Celebrating his 33rd

Photobucket

We missed Paul's real birthday this year. (He was working.) He said he didn't care and we could just pass it up, but I think every birthday should be celebrated. The girls and I prepared a special birthday treat of ice cream cookies and we sang happy birthday to our special man. Love you babe.

Anna and Lainie convinced me to cut their hair the other day. Anna has had her hair chopped before, but this was the first time for Lainie. I have to admit I was a little sad to see Lainie's long locks go, but I have to remind myself that hair is just an accessory and grows. They both look adorable, just too grown up now.

The week before Easter we had a ton of family in town. We had a great week together. I've been terrible about grabbing my camera, but lucky for me my mom has snapped many a photo for our viewing pleasure.

2 weeks old

Photobucket

Photobucket

We ventured out to the babies 2 week appointment on April 2. And by "we," I mean myself and my mom. I was very excited to see how much they weighed and if they had grown much. Lily had grown 1/2 inch and 7.5 ounces, weighing in at 6 pounds 5.5 ounces and measuring 19 inches long. Owen had grown 1 1/4 inches and 5.5 ounces, weighing in at 6 pounds 4.5 ounces and measuring 20 1/4 inches long. I was very pleased to know I wasn't starving them and that they were making progress on the growth chart. I still can't believe how tiny they are though. The bottom picture was taken at night when we were being mean and trying to keep them awake for a few hours before bedtime.

Just a few shots I took of the babes at 8 days old. I was trying my darndest to get the cute naked shots, but Lily pooped everywhere and Owen peed all over me. Needless to say, I aborted the mission.

Here are several snapshots from my point and shoot. I've been meaning to get some good pics of them, but have yet to accomplish my goal. These will just have to do. The girls have been adjusting well. Ava's been my little helper. She loves being a big sister. They do however wish we had triplets. They fight over who gets to hold "the girl" or "the boy."
