Paul was working on his birthday so we celebrated Saturday with our little family. He requested peppermint cheesecake, and let me tell you, it was my first attempt at cheesecake and it was divine! Thanks for the recipe Kath.
Love you babe. Happy Birthday.

Paul thoroughly enjoys tinkering around in the garage. He loves cars and taking them apart and putting them back together. Today he got some help from our little man. Paul was in heaven.

Art Festival

After the egg hunt we came home to get cleaned up and then met my sister and her family at the Art Festival. We had a picnic lunch then enjoyed all the kid fun the art festival had to offer. I must say that I was so glad to have my sister there. It was packed and if Jen weren't there I'm sure I would have lost Ava a number of times. It's hard keeping track of 5 little ones.

Easter Egg Hunt

There is an annual Boyscout Breakfast fundraiser/easter egg hunt in our community which we all love going to. The food wasn't so great, but the egg hunt was great fun. It's ridiculous how many eggs each of the girls got. When it was all over you had the option to turn in the plastic eggs for a package of bubbles. The babies had so much fun in there and actually cried when I took them out. How I was wishing I had brought my nice camera. (Please excuse my orphaned children. It was quite early and Paul was working, so the kids got themselves ready.)

Easter Eggs

We boiled 3 dozen eggs this year to decorate. (I have a feeling I'm going to get real sick of eating egg salad.) Each of the girls got a dozen to decorate. Didn't take long, but they always enjoy it. Wish I could say the same for me. It's real messy, especially when Ava spilled an entire cup of blue vinegar dye all over herself,me, and the floor.

and again

seriously! She was right next to me!! I used the bagbalm while changing her diaper. Then while changing Owen's diaper I saw her eye balling it so I moved it behind me. That sneaky little lady crawled around me without me noticing and before I knew it, it was all over her. I faintly recall letting out a little scream when I realized what had happened.

A few more...

We took a few more shots of the girls after church. They are so silly together. After I took a few, they came up with a few poses themselves. Love these girls.

Madee & Anna's Baptism song

The girls sang this song at their baptism. Aren't they cute!?

Anna's Baptism

This was Anna's special day. She was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was so excited and had been anticipating this day for months. I was a wreck! It's amazing to me how many emotions you can feel as a parent. I was overwhelmed....so amazed at what a young lady she has become, so excited for her to be an actual member of the church, a little nervous because she was nervous, but mostly just so proud of her. She is such a wonderful girl. We love you Anna Jane. (pictured with her BFF above who shared the same baptism day.)

1 Year Already

I can hardly believe I've had these two for a year now. They are seriously such a delight. I have perma-grin most the day just watching their sweet faces and seeing them grow and interact with each other and their sisters. Their first birthday comes with mixed emotions though; I feel RELIEF that I DID it!! I survived the first year with twins and did so with surprising ease. I feel JOY in watching them learn and grow. I feel DISAPPOINTMENT that at their 1 year appointment they were in the 1st and 2nd percentile for weight. They are the mini-est and I'm wondering how I can fatten them up. I feel SATISFACTION in their cuteness. I do think Paul and I breed some cute little ones. I feel SADNESS that they are my last and growing too quickly. I'm holding onto every moment. (And yes, they are my last. Paul's "appointment" is Friday afternoon.) And finally, I feel BLESSED. I am so incredibly lucky to be the mother of twins. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for such an amazing gift.

My parents are in town so we spent most of the day hanging out at my sisters.

Then it was time to sing and have some cake!

Owen wasn't too sure about it at first.
Photobucket
Then he really let us know how he felt about it. I had no idea he would detest his hands being dirty so much!

Lily was a different story. She ate...
