Orphaned children

I feel like I'm the only one in the world with children who look like this almost everyday. We start off the day so well, everyone clean for at least the first 5 minutes that they are awake.
Here's Paul showing me a watermelon from the garden...notice my clean children.

Then we head outside and hang out for a bit... Lily is still clean.

Then we break out the frozen gogurts and the mess begins.

and once the babies hit daddy's garage it's all over...

Their feet are usually the first to go.

and this is what they look like when they come inside. Seriously people...this happens on a very frequent basis.

a bath is a must after just a half hour outside. poor orphaned babies.

Garden

Every year when spring rolls around we contemplate putting in a garden, but every year we say to ourselves, we won't be in this house very much longer. Well, it's been almost 9 years that we've lived in this house and now that we are bulging at the seams, we FINALLY put in a garden. It's been awesome having fresh fruit and veggies all summer long.

this little man

I'm always finding him in the toy box, or on top of the counter. Little monkey boy.

At least once a month the kids make their own pizza for dinner. It is extremely messy, but so fun to do. We had cousins over this time to make pizzas with us. Man, I wish I had a double oven!!

Ava's 1st day of preschool

This little one could not have been more excited to start preschool. She was a little nervous about not knowing everyone in her class though. We talked a bit about it before we left and she felt better. When we got to her school, she looked out the car window, notice a boy she had never met before and said, "oh crap mom, i don't know that boy." I chuckled a bit and said, "It's okay Ava, you'll get to know him...and we don't say crap."

School started August 11th this year. It seems as though the school district moves up the date every year. We got home in the wee hours of the morning on the 10th and had just under 24 hours to prepare for school. Luckily we did most of the school shopping before we left. Anna is in 3rd this year, and Lainie 1st.

until next year Long Beach. . .

We hated to say goodbye. The girls actually cried when I said it was time to go.

Here we are at about 6 in the morning, trying to keep the babes quiet in the car while everyone else is still sleeping. Camping is SOOO fun with babies.

To the beach...

Our last weekend of our trip was spent in Long Beach, WA. One of my favorite places. I grew up going here every summer, camping out, and hanging out with my cousins. I LOVE this place. Although the weather was cold, we all still had a great time. So many pictures...

With both older sisters busy with cousins, Ava was my little tag along. She wanted me to take picture of her all over the beach.

We always do the same thing everytime we head to town. Marsh's Museum, the carnival rides, go carts, the arcade, and the bakery. good times.
