Loving the dark clouds

Photobucket

We went over to my sister's house today and in the early evening dark clouds rolled in and it began to rain a bit. The kids were so excited! I can't remember the last time we got a few drops. They think rain is the coolest thing in the world.

LVFD

Congratulations to my man! After 3 long years of studying, testing, training, interviewing, and waiting, Paul has finally made the Academy to be a Firefighter for the city of Las Vegas. He is so incredibly excited and I couldn't be more proud. Good work babe!

And no, we will not be moving to Vegas. Not my favorite place, but I'm sure there are many good people who live there. Paul will be commuting the hour and a half or so drive. After the academy, Paul will be working just 10 shifts a month. During the academy he'll have to find a room to rent since it is held Tuesday through Friday. Anyone have a friend, uncle, relative that has a spare room that they want to rent out for 4 months?

Dalmatians

The girls and I went to a Fall Festival put on by our community on Saturday. There was a bounce house, face painting, good food and music. Anna thought it would be fun for her and her BFF Madee to get their entire faces painted as dalmatians.

Lainie's 1st day of preschool

Lainie was very excited to start preschool this year. Anna started 1st grade on the 12th of August, so waiting until Sept. 2nd seemed like a long time to wait. The day finally arrived and every 5 minutes since she woke up in the morning she'd been asking me,"Is it time to go to school yet?"

We spent Labor Day fishing at Pine Valley with our friends the Kirbys. I am not much of a fisherman myself, but the girls and Paul had a lot of fun. Paul was the big winner of the day and caught 4 fish, although he didn't reel any of them in so he denies it. He let each of the girls bring the fish in and that made them so happy. What a good daddy he is! After a long day of fishing...who knew it took so many hours...we had a great bbq picnic..YUM!
