Vegas Baby

Paul and I got a babysitter and Ashley, Loni (my newest sister-in-law), Paul and I headed to Vegas for some shopping and good food. We left around noon and got home at 2 in the morning. We were all set to be home around midnight, but then at the last minute Paul and Ashley went on the Stratosphere. Ashley so willingly sent me a copy of a few pics from our trip.

A melted cheese sandwich

Photobucket

Just a shot I thought was cute from today. Lainie Grace had just gotten home from swimming lessons and was starving. She requested a "melted cheese sandwich" like she does just about everyday. But today she ate it at the edge of the living room carpet just so she wouldn't miss a second of a strawberry shortcake movie she borrowed from a friend. Doesn't she look so cute in the IN N OUT cap her auntie brought her.

The last few days

Paul's sister Ashley is visiting from Alaska and the girls and I have been loving it! And although, I am not great at taking photos these days-ashley is. These are from her camera.

Anna showing us her skills by climbing the tether ball pole at the park. (PS. this is Anna's hair slicked back with a helmet of hairspray...her new hairstyle for the next few months.)

After dinner we went and fed the ducks, Paul and I posing on the side of the road.

Lice Outbreak!

Ewww....I know. On Wednesday of this week 19 kids got sent home from Anna's school with head lice. That didn't include the 8 kids in our neighborhood who didn't go to school that day for the same reason. I can only imagine that that number has gone up considerably. We don't have it yet...but Anna's close friends do and so I'm sure it's just a matter of time. I kept Anna home from school yesterday...just because I'm so afraid of getting the bug. I have since done some research and have learned a few tricks to keeping her clear. 1. Apparently Lice do not like Tea tree oil. It's sort of a repellent. I purchased some organic tea tree shampoo and conditioner and all of us girls will be using it on a daily basis for the next few months. I'm also considering buying some tea tree essential oil to swab behind their ears and nape of neck. 2. I also heard that lice have a harder time penetrating hair that has a lot of product in it. So this morning for school I got Anna's hair wet, slicked it back into two buns and saturated her hair with hairspray! She may as well be wearing a helmet...it was definitely hard. 3. I gave her a thorough chat about not sharing hats, brushes, hair things, backpacks or being too close to someone's head. Hopefully we'll be able to get through this alive. I'm looking for any other tips to help keep us free and clear of any lice...anyone hear of anything else?

I believe in bigfoot

Years and years ago when I was in highschool, my brother and I were coming back home from early morning seminary. It must have been about 7am when we were coming home...it was still pitch black outside. There was a huge moon out that night and it lit up the sky. We both thought it would be fun to drive up the hill to our house without headlights. And it was. All of the sudden we see a shadow of a large creature's silhouette walking across the road in the moonlight. It was big and tall and moved like a man, but you could tell by the jagged edges of it's silhouette that it was extremely hairy. We could not believe our eyes. Marcus immediately turned on the headlights, but it was already gone. Neither of us could believe nor deny what we had seen. We told so many people that story and nobody has ever believed it. It was crazy, but it happened and now there's proof.

Lainie had a friend over while Anna was at school today. This usually means that Ava also likes to tag along and play with them. I was pleasantly surprised though, when after her nap I asked, "do you want to go outside and play with the girls?" and she responded, "go outside, play mama." Cute little sis.

Can't believe summer is gone already! Anna was super excited this morning getting ready for school. Can you believe all the little girls in my neighborhood? I guess if I'd ever like to have a boy, I need to move out of this place.

This was another one of our fun outings while my parents were here. This was a cool spot my sister found. It was very much a teenage hangout, but still so fun.
