Pioneer Day

My sisters community puts on a parade and breakfast every pioneer day. Families are invited to dress up and ride around a few blocks before eating breakfast together. It was a very humble parade, but fun for all who were involved. Our whole family rode on a wagon and waved to about 10 spectators.

Getting ready for the parade to start.

1st week in our new place

It's been a whole week since moving into my sister's basement. Kids ask me everyday to go back to our house, but we are adjusting. Our plan is to save, save, save and find some land to build. (hopefully) My sister has been more than gracious and we have felt very welcome.
We take evening walks around the block, Paul joined us in the jazzy, but then decided it was lame and walked with us.

There was an awesome double rainbow in the evening too.

Few days out

Paul spends most of his days with this polar ice thing attached to his shoulder. You put ice in a cooler then fill with water and it cycles cold water through a corrugated sleeve continuously. He LOVES it. He relies on it more than the pain meds.

Surgery Day

Paul tore his labrum doing crossfit at the end of May. After many dr. appts, surgery seemed the best option for a full recovery. His surgery was scheduled for the day after we moved. Here he is pre-surgery.

The dr. called me when they were done and I headed back with Ava to pick him up. He was completely out of it for quite some time so we hung out and watched tv with him for a bit.
Photobucket
Dr. said it was a good tear from where the bicep attaches to 6 o'clock and needed 4 anchors. He'll be off work for quite some time and then onto light duty for several months.

Ava turns 6

Photobucket
Ava had to share her special day with us moving. We missed having birthday pancakes because all the dishes were packed. We ended up eating ice cream cake and opening presents at the end of a very long moving day. So grateful for this special lady. My camera was also temporarily unavailable while moving so I was happy Paul had his phone handy.

Love the beach on the 4th. So fun building sand castles at the beach, hanging out with cousins, and enjoying the fireworks show. Love Long Beach.

Ava lost a tooth. Took a pic to send to Daddy.

Ivars Park

I was told that you can walk out a mile from this beach and still only be waist deep. No one could brave the cold water long enough to find out.
