Anna's Birthday

Anna started off her special day with a request of a pancake shaped like a 7. Later on Paul took her and Lainie to a new church building where they were able to put their little handprints in concrete. (I told him to take pictures of the entire day, but of course that was the one that he forgot!) Afterward they went to Winger's for lunch. Ava hasn't been feeling so great the last few days so we opted to stay home. Later on that evening Anna made her cake, and then waited ever so patiently for her Pajama pizza party to start.

Just call me Marge

I'm 33 weeks today and all is well. This last weeks appointments I measured 39 cm (the largest I've ever measured with any pregnancy is 37) and the babes were just over 4 pounds each. The little stinkers are both breech however. Friday night I had a few hours of frequent contractions, but luckily they went away after a nice hot shower. I'm really hoping to make it to at least 37 weeks.

Lainie's Birthday

Our little Lainie Grace turned 5 yesterday. We had pancakes per her request in the morning and after preschool she had a few little friends over for a princess tea party. She spent the entire day ending her sentences with "on my birthday" or "because it's my birthday." For instance, after lunch I heard her tell Ava, "I have to go potty on my birthday." At the end of the day she asked me when she was going to turn 6. I'm pretty sure she loved her special day. Love you Lainie Grace.

Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day was spent with the ladies. We ran errands, went to the library, went out to lunch and then came home to make homemade heart shaped pizzas. The girls enjoyed themselves....and by enjoyed themselves, I mean the kitchen was disasterous when we were finished.

9 years later

An old picture of the two of us...Dec. 06 if I'm not mistaken. (We both look younger here, maybe because of our fuller faces.) Today is our 9 year anniversary...and I've loved every minute of it. I feel very blessed to share my life with this man.

Happy Birthday to my cute sister-in-law Diedre as well. We stole her special day 9 years ago, but now I will never forget her birthday. I love you D! Hope you had a wonderful 29th birthday!

30 weeks

I've put on 26 pounds, gained a million inches, and am feeling quite large these days...and I still have 10 weeks to go. I've been trying to take it easy but it is relatively hard with 3 at home with no husband all week. My sweetest sister ever, Jen, came to my house last Wednesday to clean and will be coming once a week for now on. (I love it, but I hate it.) Appointments are starting to come once a week and soon will be twice a week. Who knew carrying two would be so challenging. The babes are good though. My last ultrasound was at 28 weeks and they looked great, weighing in at about 2 1/2 pounds each. One of the babies gets the hiccups all the time and the other loves to suck it's fingers. And for all of those who keep asking...no, we still are not going to be finding out the sex of the babies.

Seriously

Why? Why must Ava feel it necessary to paint her own toenails with the brightest pink polish she can find...and on carpet. UGh! I scrubbed and scrubbed with acetone/polish remover...oh well. I've always hated that carpet anyway...I guess I'm one step closer to the walnut hardwood floors I've been wanting for years.

All by herself

The day after I "attempted" to potty train Ava she was upstairs playing with Lainie when she decided that she wanted to wear panties again. I was feeling a bit too lazy/tired/whatever to change her out of them, so I just let her run around in them...expecting an accident. Lainie tried to make going potty sound fun and took Ava into the bathroom and read her a book while on the toilet. That's all it took. Once Ava went once, she got it. I put her in a diaper that night, still not wanting to deal with it, but she woke up dry and has been dry ever since (minus a few drips here and there as in the shot above). She's quite proud of herself-as am I. I so love that I didn't need to put any work into it.

Smarty Pants

Anna received an award a few weeks ago for her writing skills. She is such a sweet and smart girl. Good work Anna Jane!

So many changes

This poor little lady has gone through so many changes the past few weeks with more yet to come. We moved her into a big girl bed with Lainie and Anna, took away her sippy cup, and took away her binkie all in one night. She is on the road to be a big sister and she isn't handling it as well as I wanted her to. This morning I decided I'd see if potty training was at all interesting to her. She of course, loved the whole panty idea, but the toilet....not so much. I only lasted 4 hours when I decided to nix it. The truth be told, she could probably handle the whole "training" period, but I can't. I'm the one who isn't ready to put in the effort she will demand.

And yes, we still have snow at my house. It's been forever!!! I'm so ready for it to leave. It finally has started to warm up again and melt a bit so we grabbed the chance and went outside to play on the playset.

25 weeks

15 weeks left to go....I'm in trouble!

Ducks...again.

It was cold and it was obvious that the ducks were all very hungry. We've been feeding them for years but have never seen this swan come out of the water to get any. He grabbed at least 10 whole pieces of bread for himself.

I'm going to stop pretending that I'm going to send out Christmas cards this year. We never got around to taking a good family picture so this will just have to do. Merry Christmas everyone. We love and miss you all!
