Helmet
My sweet little Lainie Grace was out riding her bike today with her SWEET helmet! "Are you watchin mom," she'd say. Of course I was watching. How could I miss that sweet face of hers. Love you Lainie Grace.

No more mini Mullet
Ava is at 100% again. We are so happy! We had an appointment with her Dr. and he scheduled her an EEG for Thursday of next week. (Scan of her brain for further insight as to why she seized in the first place.) I cut off her mini-mullet this morning. I should have taken a before picture, but forgot. I cut about an inch off the back.

Another ER visit
We had ourselves a bit of a scare yesterday. Ava had a slight fever during the day and woke up in the middle of the night so I gave her some motrin. An hour later she woke up again and she still felt hot so I brought her downstairs to take her temp. She wasn't responding to my voice or looking at me and I started to worry. I decided she needed a cool bath and when I put her in the water she didn't react at all. She just stared over to one side, not blinking. I am now really panicking. I get her out of the bath and call Paul. (He was working at Dixie Ambulance at the time.) I can't get a hold of him and I'm freaking out by now. So I dial 911. Then she starts having a seizure. I'm FREAKING out! The poor lady on the 911 call couldn't understand me half the time because I'm crying so hard. Our neighborhood medics responded to the call, my neighbor came over to stay with my other girls, and Paul called me back. He heard his address and 13 month old seizure over the pager at work. He said his heart fell immediately. He called me when he was enroute to our house. The medics loaded her up and I rode in the front seat with Paul in the ambulance to the ER. She seized for 40 minutes. They had to give her medication to stop her. Once in the ER they ran some tests and we waited. She had another seizure while we were there. I can't tell you how horrible it was. My little baby. After her second seizure she got something called Tods paralysis which took away all mobility to her right side. I'm FREAKING out again! After what seemed like hours of tests, tubes, and pokes to her little body, they moved us over to the children's hospital for observation. She regained mobility of her right side and all tests came back negative. We stayed there all day and left with no answer as to why she seized in the first place. We are happy to have her home and feeling a bit better. I slept in her room with her last night and I'm sure I'll be there for the next few weeks. It was just so scary.

ER visit
At 8 pm last night Ava had a little accident. She's still a bit wobbly at times and fell face first onto a speaker. Neither Paul nor I were in the room when it happened. All we saw was the crazy amounts of blood coming from her face. I immediately start panicking, I don't do well with blood especially when it's SPURTING out of my baby's face. It took us awhile to find exactly where she was cut. (Inside her mouth by upper teeth and inside and outside lower lip.) The outside cut shown in the above pictures was gapping open and we had thought it went all the way through the lip, but thankfully it didn't. We took her to the hospital to get it checked out. I was really nervous about her getting stitches because I didn't want her to have a big scar. I was hoping to just super glue it, but apparently that's not an option with the cut so close to her mouth. The doctor didn't know if stitching it would leave a bigger scar or not so we opted to let it heal on it's own. When she woke up this morning it looked 100 times better. Hopefully she won't scar too badly.

High School Musical Party
Anyone with elementary age kids probably did just what we did Friday night...watched High School Musical 2. Anna was dying to have a party, so I went to the party store and picked up some supplies and we decorated the house-in East High colors of course. We filled the table with yummy treats and then waited for our guests to arrive. (My sister Jen and her two youngest and my brother Marcus, and brother-in-law Terry.) It was so fun. The kids really enjoyed it.

1st Day of School
Can't believe that Anna Jane is in Kindergarten! Time sure flies. Today was the first day of school. Anna has afternoon kindergarten so we took our time this morning. We headed for the bus stop at 12:30. Anna got so excited when she saw the bus...she's been wanted to ride that bus for along time. She got right on and I drove to the school to meet her. When she got off the bus, she saw me, said hi and then walked right into class! I guess she didn't need me anymore-she's such a big girl now. But, of course, I followed her in and spied on her for a few minutes. It was a good day.

Lollipop
Paul bought these lollipops for the girls quite some time ago. He'd been saving them for a special day. Anna will be starting Kindergarten on Wednesday and she showed him how she could read a few short words. He was quite impressed. He bribed her with this lollipop to read several more words for him. She was very happy to receive her reward! Of course, Lainie got one too. She just gave dad a smooch for hers.

Saturday
We spent our Saturday doing yardwork, running errands, etc. The girls decided to spend their Saturday in their suits and boots. On top of that they were out riding their bikes with their helmets on. I didn't have my camera handy while they were outside, but I nabbed a quick shot when they came in for lunch. So funny.

Sprinklers and Otterpops
By the time Ava woke up today it was too late to go to the pool. (I like to stay at least 3 hours.) So instead we opted for running through the sprinklers and eating otterpops. The girls enjoyed jumping over each sprinkler head. I didn't get many good shots in fear that my camera would get wet...guess I need another lense for those long shots.

Happy Birthday Abbie
Happy Birthday Abbie! How sad is it that these are the most recent photos I have of you! These were taken back in July of 2004 and sadly that was the last time we visited the great state of Alaska and the last time we saw the two of you. Things have got to change, we miss you too much! We hope you have a wonderful Birthday. We'll call you later tonight. Love you.

Exciting Evening
We had quite the night tonight. It started with a thunderstorm that lasted only about a half hour but brought some serious rain and lightning. My neighbors fence was struck by lightning and we were in the garage when it happened. It was about 50 feet from us....soooooo loud! The girls started screaming/crying. They were quite scared. Later on the flood came, and came and came. Our back yard was filled with water. It came up to the edge of our patio, but that's it. A few houses in the area weren't so lucky. Apparently the storm is supposed to continue and we'll get more rain tomorrow. Hopefully we'll stay dry! (By the way, these are pictures of our lawn.)
Lesson Prep
My friend Rose asked if I would be willing to sub for her in church in a few weeks. Of course I said yes and was given the topic of Marriage. I read the lesson early and have been doing further research with a few books. This particular book was recommended by my brother, Marcus, who swears that every married woman needs to read it. Coming from a man, that was good enough for me. It basically says that men are simple creatures who just need a few things to be happy. If you treat your man with respect, keep him fed, and give him some lovin, then you can get anything you want and will be treated even more like a queen. It was a great quick read that I recommend to all of you other ladies out there. I'm sure you're husbands will approve.
